Travelling to Locations via Public Transport

Our Real Family Holiday Centres are accessible via public transport so if you don't have a car or if you are making more of an effort to use public transport this year there is no need to worry about how you will arrive to your destination!

 Millport, the Scottish Islands centre, is very easily accessible. Trains run frequently from Glasgow to Largs, where a short 8-minute ferry ride takes you to the island of Millport, where a 5-minute bus ride gets you to the centre. The small town of Millport is within walking distance of the centre. For more information see here.

Malham Tarn, our Yorkshire Dales Centre, is approx. a 20-minute taxi drive from the nearest train station in Settle. The centre offers pre-bookable station minibus transfers, for £10 pp return. For more information see here.

Juniper Hall, our Centre situated in the Surrey Hills is a 15-minute walk from Box Hill train station. It can also be accessed on the 465 bus from Dorking train station and the bus stops just outside our entrance. Leatherhead train station is a 15-minute taxi ride. For more information see here.

Start Bay Centre is located at the top of Slapton, surrounded by England’s beautiful countryside. 13 miles (20km) from Totnes train station, with the 93 Bus Service from Plymouth to Slapton via Kingsbridge and from Dartmouth to Slapton being operated by First Group. For more information see here.

Nettlecombe Court Centre sits in a secluded magical valley on the eastern edge of Exmoor National Park. The Centre is easily accessible by road and is a 35-minute drive from Taunton station by taxi (approx. £35 each way). For more information see here.

Blencathra, our Lake District Centre can be accessed by bus from Keswick to Threlkeld, with a short approx 1 mile walk uphill to the centre. Alternatively, taxis from Keswick cost approx. £10. For more information see here.

Rhyd-y-creuau, our Centre in Snowdonia is surrounded by calm lakes, picturesque valleys and mountain ranges. There is a nearby coastal town of Llandudno, and the rural village of Betws-y-Coed itself is within walking distance. 1 mile (1.5 km) from Betws-y-coed station. For more information see here

Orielton Centre is one of our Centres in Pembrokeshire, surrounded by beaches, grassland and resort towns. The nearest train station is Pembroke Station (Not Pembroke Dock) which is about 20 minutes away. For more information see here.

Dale Fort Centre is a few minutes’ walk away from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with access to beautiful beaches and lovely scenery. Dale village, a 15-minute walk from the Centre, has a beach, café, pub and watersports Centre. The nearest railway station to the Centre is Milford Haven which is about 30 minutes away. Margam Centre is located in South Wales within 850 acres of beautiful parkland where 600 deer roam freely. Taxi to centre possible from Port Talbot Parkway – approx. 10miles away. For more information see here.
